Head offices

Calgary is second to only Toronto for concentration of head offices in Canada. The number of head offices located in the Region has risen faster than anywhere in Canada in the last decade, rising from 78 in 2000 to 114 in 2009. Today, the Calgary Region is home to 1 in 7 of Canada’s major corporate headquarters. As Canada’s energy centre, it is no surprise that 84 of Calgary’s head offices are in the energy sector. Other head office sectors include chemicals, food, transportation, communications, utilities, media, retail/wholesale, finance, mining, and real estate.
