The CRP's 2010-2011 Strategic Action Plan charts an energetic course for the next 12-18 months, positioning our region for:
The introduction of regional transit services and facilities from Airdrie, Cochrane and other locations to and from Calgary (Regional Transportation Planning Project);
The enhancement of regional water and waste water services and infrastructure for municipalities that need a more secure, reliable long-term water supply to support their growth and development (Regional Water and Waste Water Servicing Project);
The commencement of state-of-the-art geographical information and mapping tools (GIS) and applications to support a host of municipal service delivery and planning activities (Regional Geographic Information Systems Project); and
The expansion of economic development initiatives that provide planned and servicable locations for job growth and business opportunities to increase the overall competitiveness of our municipalities and our region (Economic Development).
All of these projects form the basis of The Calgary Metropolitan Plan's priority implementation work over the next 12 - 18 months. These projects are the catalysts for initiating and integrating regional service delivery, infrastructure systems and land use planning.
